Bizhub C458 ADF and flatbed copies not correct

    Bizhub C458 ADF and flatbed copies not correct

    I have a C458 that when scans/copies are done via ADF or the glass have a "tire" mark on the top of the page. This does not happen when printing. So it has something to do with the optics. I have cleaned the glass but have not tried the mirrors as yet. I have attached an image for reference.

      looks like somebody leaned on the front left corner to hard. there are adjustment screws under the panels but i usually just lift up on it enough to lift the mainbody off the stand a bit, bend it back where it was to start out.

          I know that there are the adjustment screws above the hings and I have tried to adjust those and it did correct the scan a small amount. I am wondering if those are the screws that you are taking about?

              no the screws are under the scanner covers left side and along the rear.

                  Just pull up on left front corner of copier as other member posted. Actually lift copier from that left front corner off floor a few inches and let back down. That is all you should have to do.

                      Definitely scanner focus. Like others have said, most likely someone has just leaned on the corner of the scanner and warped it down. You'll also see that your printed image is a parallelogram.

                      We used to call it the Ricoh bearhug (since Ricoh's of the late 90's were so prone to this). Here's how it works: Look around the office to make sure noone is watching you. Reach both forearms under the scanner, and lift the whole machine slightly off the ground. You might have to repeat it a couple of times. On some machines, I precision cut wooden props that fit between the engine top, and the bottom of the scanner to maintain the proper distance.

                      Sometimes the screws that connect the scanner to the main body come loose, or have slotted adjustment. Re-position the scanner as needed, and re-tighten the screws. It can be difficult to explain that the machine's frame is very easy to bend, so best not to get caught straightening it. =^..^=
                      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                          Before pulling up on the left front corner take cover on left side of scanner and loosen all the screws , then while pulling up on the left front cover tighten the screws.
