i have a problem with xerox altalink 8030 , after rewrite on SD CARD and HDD , i made a altboot usb with FORCE_UPGRADE and swup_usb but the screen stays blue and after a sec it makes a beep sound and then restart

What mean rewrite sd card and hdd? Did you format the hdd? Did you used original files for C8030 or files copied from another machine?

hello! i copied the files from another machine, i didnt format anything active disk image have an option to do it! thanks for the reply! im kinda stuck now

This method works if the donor machine was at the same software level as the machine you want to to put it into operation.
If not, then you must use special altboot software with original files.

can you tell me how to make special altboot? its the same but with 2 more files?

some device not working by 103 firmware version
you should make specialaltboot with 101 firmware version then upgrade to 103 version

Hello! i use special altboot method with DLM FILE (AltaLink_C8030_35_ALTBOOT_system-sw10100110933800) FORCE_UPGRADE and (DISABLE_DATA_BACKUP) but i get an error Unable to decrypt DLM. Perform special altboot to upgrade the device. When i use some files, i found them in this thread (swup_usb.C8030_35 and swup_usb ) the machine keeps restarting with one beep sound , any tips?

When you give message unable dicrypt dlm you should re program sd card from image sd card file.it’s avaliable in specialaltboot.com 2.where you copy suwp usb files?the files must be on root of flash drive outside altboot folder.if you succeed tell me.

hello! i made it, the problem was the SD CARD probably fault image , i used your image (COUNTER 92K) and the DLM Altboot SW10100110933800 and the machine works now! we dont have to use swup_usb

Hello, I'm doing the same as you, same machine too, but I can't get it to work because I don't have healthy HDD files, does anyone have them for C8030/C8035 ??

It updates, boot lops for a while and then the 7 segment screen shows "n" with either my SD Card backup or the Counter 92K one, everytime I do anything I reflash the SD just in case (tried several SD cards too). Pretty sure the problem is because the HDD is empty (though the machine creates the filesystem and partitions and everything...).

Another weird thing is that in the software install screen I only get "Copy Controller" and "Network Controller" to show up, nothing else...

Okay to answer to myself, the problem ended up being that the cable for the screen / user interface was not connected properly, I don't know how could this affect software (specially because the touchscreen worked perfectly fine) That's why I was not getting all the applications in the software upgrade screen, also I was only getting 2 when I wrote this message because I missnamed "FORCED_UPGRADE" to "FORCE_UPGRADE" it will not work with the latter.

Anyway I wiggled the connector around a little bit, got it to connect temporarily with some tape whilst a new one arrives, flashed my old HDD and SD image, did force altboot to install the new firmware to all the modules and it's working now...
