Good morning, I have a Xerox Altalink C8035, that doesn't start, I think that it is a firmware problem, I have read everything you say, but it is not clear to me what I have to do, what version to reinstall.

I add some pictures to try to help, the version that the machines suppose to have is 100.001.057.09609.

Here you have a video to see what happens, I mean restart, restart and restart again.

If you can let me know what can I do to solve it please.

    Regards

What is the code on the small 7 digit display?
Can be the SD card corruption, hdd system software corruption or bad hdd.
Did you tried to reseat the sd card and hdd connectors?

I don't understand what do you mean the small 7 digit display, you mean in the screen during the resets? Or the number led that have in the connection area?

About the HDD and the card, we have tested in another working machines, and both works good.
I switch the HDD and the SDcard for the non-working machine to a working machine, same model(but different motherboard) and works good.

        Thanks for your fast asnwer!!

Try to replace the 2 pieces dimm memory then the manual says to reload software and if that not works must replace the motherboard electronic board.

We change it for the machine that works, and the machine dont start, and cant update the firmware also, do the same with the initial dimm memorries.
Also, I'm trying to update the firmware but doesnt work, attaching pictures:

Too many files there. On altboot folder you must have software dlm file = 464MB , FORCED_UPGRADE and DISABLE_DATA_BACKUP.
Nothing else on altboot folder, noting on root of the usb stick. Try also usb port on the rear of the machine if the front one do not works.
If this forced upgrade procedure do not works then the two swup file on the root of the usb stick and on altboot folder the files from forced upgrade.
                  this mean special procedure.ltboot.

I dont know what it can be. The service manual say the next step is to replace SBC pwb. I think one of the electronic boards have problem. Sometime IIT pwb make trouble. Download the service manual from net try to enter service mode if you can and search for machine error

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the SWUP files should be inside the ALBTOOT directory.

Swup files at root. Try to reimage sd card, format hdd, and altboot machine
