Re: Joke of the Day
Hi izzynut I owe you an apology of sorts...
When I first read the above joke it was cut an paste twice. I thought it was cut and paste twice to carry a hidden message.
The hidden message I assumed, the joke was about the New York Bank charging $23.07 interest on a $5000 loan.
A quick calculation in my head arrived at $5000 @ 12% interest = $600.
And the punch line to the joke: I thought the N.Y. Bank short changed themselves.
concluding:
I assumed the bank was in error because I took the interest as principle of the loan in total.
If you reason that the bank loan was taken over 52 weeks; interest is correct at $23.07.
($5000 @ 12% ) = $600
($600/52 weeks) = $11.53 /per week
($11.53 x 2 weeks) = $23.07
Solly olly....
I thought that the joke carried a hidden IQ test as the punch line......
