All I am saying is that Creationism and Evolution are two sides of the same coin. You have to be a believer. You get unsubstantiated and unprovable information thrown at you and you believe blindly that it is the truth, and nothing anyone says will change your mind.

Big Bang? Seriously? This is the best they could come up with? A huge explosion with nothing organic in it somehow creates life? Maybe it was God claping His hands. That sounds more plausible. Just saying.

Science doesn't work like that. You can choose to just believe in what scientists tell you (just like religion) or not. But, unlike religion, if you have any doubts you can follow your own reasoning, do your own experiments, and in the end, if it proves to be a better explanation than the previous generally-accepted one - if it can be done by other scientists with the same results - then it will replace it.

Most scientists, unlike religious people, are known to accept they are wrong once there is a better explanation for any given phenomena.

You're asking for absolute proof that there was once a big bang. I believe that proof will come once our telescopes can reach far enough until we can see it (knowing that light takes one second to travel 300.000Km, right now we can see galaxies as they were just right after the Big Bang, cosmologically speaking), but right now the Big Bang theory is the best explanation for several factors we can observe - I don't have the time to list some, but off the top of my head and risking saying something wrong: the background noise that can be detected in microwave all over the sky, the fact that all the galaxies we can observe are moving further away from all the other galaxies are two that I can think of right now.

Just to play the devils advocate for a minute...while I personally believe parting the red sea was divine intervention, I can see how someone could come to the conclusion it was just coincedence. which is why there is some merit to man inventing religion to explain some things But then again some things defy the manmade explaination..

One thing that could explain the parting of the Red sea, if it did happen indeed, would be a tsunami - usually when there's a tsunami, the sea water recedes (hence the "parting" part) and then comes back again much stronger (the part where the army was dizimated by the sea). That's exactly what happened during the Lisbon's great earthquake - it's not exactly a "separation of waters", but we know how each new version of a text adds some bells and whistles for effect...

I've been following this thread since today, read through the whole thing. I must say I'm impressed with the majority of posts being level headed and even reasonable, save for a select few. I would attempt to join and contribute but due to my own beliefs and bias I would not be able to contribute anything positive to the discussion, and with that, I will opt out to remain an interested observer.

To blindly believe anything without question is called "faith", whether it is science or religion. The one thing a person should always do is question. Otherwise whomever is giving you the info can tell you anything. For example, "a ball of goo became everything you see around you".

I find it somewhat amusing that you're sitting at your computer reading this post, probably drinking an espresso while checking your mobile phone for new messages and glancing at the TV to see what's new on cable; probably earning your life servicing top-of-the-line state-of-the-art office equipment - and you're putting scientific progress in check?

I am pretty sure |I don't have the power to singlehandedly stop scientific progress.
The only thing I am saying is that believing evolution just because a bunch of "scientists" say it is true, is no different than believing creation just because a bunch of priests say it is true. Neither one can prove it. So, ask questions.
