Some people believe in creation without a lot of evidence. Some people believe in evolution without much evidence. People are going to believe whatever helps them get through their day. It is called faith.

When it comes to evidence, there is plenty for evolution. Weather or not people can understand in a few moments of simple explanation what scientist dedicate their lives to studying is another mater.

As far as faith goes, "What can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence."

Hmmmm! I can see this thread has 'refused to die'. Without necessarily diverting from Dwise's post, let me say something about 'CRUCIFIXION' with respect to the reference link above.

          - At no anytime does Christianity 'claim a monopoly' on the word 'Crucifiction', meaning Jesus was neither the first nor the last person to have suffered death through this gruesome method. As a matter of fact, Crucifixion is a very ancient method of execution known to the Assyrians, Persians, Greeks and others (Ref: Ezra ch.6, vs 11). It was adopted by the Romans, BUT was reserved only for those guilty of the most heinous crimes, or slaves. Death usually came as a result of heat, thirst, exposure and exhaustion. Death may be hastened by physical assault (Ref: John ch.19, vs 31&33).

The only thing Science has so far failed to tell us is '' How did the black cat get into the dark room in the first place?'' or 'Who put it there?'. Until creationists, theists, and generally all people who beleive in the existence of God....the Supreme infinite Intelligence, can get these answers from scientists there won't be any turning point in this matter.
            - The problem with our atheist brothers is that they want 'physical evidence' as proof of the existence of God. You may be aware that, the 'invisible force' is more powerful than the 'visible force'. And that the 'visible' (Read physical matter) came from the 'invisible'. You don't see Air, Gravity, sound or Electromagnetic waves but you know they exist, for you experience their power.

Precisely , that is proof that they exist. There is no power to experience from imaginary beings. If Jesus was real and God is all powerful, then why, after 2000 years, are there parts of earth that have never heard of him.

                - With the advance in technology is there any part of the earth that have never heard of Jesus really? If so, then it's a question of time before they do. When Jesus was asked 'when the end of the world will come?' He answered, 'The Gospel MUST be preached to all the ends (Read Corners) of the earth, and then the end will come!!!'.
                - My brother fix, how can you experience the power from the 'imaginary beings' if you are not a believer? You need to become one. Meanwhile, We are still waiting for an answer from you and the scientists on 'how the black cat got into the dark room in the first place', and where it came from. Analogically, how the Air, Gravity, Electromagnetic waves etc came from. Once you can convince us with concrete proof/evidence that 'they just found themselves existing in nature without any Author' we shall convert to 'Atheism' instantly.

Actually science is more like making the conclusion before you walk into the dark room that there is a cat in there and spending the rest of your career trying to prove your conclusion. lol

The funniest thing about reading Christian comments about science on this site, is knowing that the poster makes a living working on scientifically advanced equipment and post the comments using the most advanced scientific method of communication know to man, that ironically owes much its creation to a gay atheist.

Lets see if I can think of a couple of more people who helped mankind advance after freeing their mind from religion. Lets pretend none of these people existed and not use their science....and set civilization back 1000 years.

Again, there is no bigger irony than Christians talking about science as though it is little more than a bunch of unproven theories, and doing it on the internet.

Yes there is a list of Christians, not nearly as long and a lot of the entries go back hundreds of years, when just being born white, meant you were a Christian.

For me to constantly hear someone, or a group talk like the "jury is still out on this whole science thing", is like hearing you say that this "whole automobile thing is just a fad", as you climb in your car to go to work.

You are probably the kind of person who gets sick, and instead of staying home and praying, you go see a doctor, then when you get better, you thank god instead of the doctor.

I feel more secure in the future knowing that so many atheist are involved in hard science, because science is the quest for answers, and when you are trying to crack the secrets of the universe [the whole time, with theist sitting on the sidelines going "you don't have all of the answers yet so you must be wrong"], and ask a tough question, the answer that will take you nowhere quick is "because God did it."

Happy Easter to all. Today millions of Christians will make the extra effort to get up early, dress in nice clothes and drive past homeless shelters, orphanages, halfway houses, drug addicts, prostitutes, prisons and people living in the street to go to a nice building where someone will remind them to be more like Jesus.

I have never stated my beliefs here, so don't act like an evolutionary scientist and create your conclusion first. If in "christian" you mean that I believe Jesus Christ was a real person, then I guess I am a christian. If you think I am a true believer who disregards all else in pursuit of my beliefs then you are sadly mistaken. That sounds more like you. I like to keep an open mind.
When I say "scientist" in this thread, I am not generalizing. I am talking specifically talking about origin and evolutionary scientists. The ones who don't ever have to come up with anything.

-Science is not a fad, neither is the Automobile nor is any Advanced scientific equipment through which any of the posters here earn their living! I also thank the many scientists, among them atheists, who have worked hard, and continue to work day and night to 'Crack the secrete of nature!'.
-** These advanced Scientific equipment, the Automobiles, digital copiers & computers just to mention a few are, collectively referred to as 'Dynamic Physical Systems' in in Engineering terms. They come into 'existence' by MODELING,...which is the process of obtaining the desired Mathematical Description of the System; the basic models of any dynamic physical systems are 'Differential Equations' [CALCULUS] obtained by application of the ''appropriate laws of Nature''. These equations may be linear or non-linear depending on the phenomenon being modeled.**

The 'secrets' so far cracked or unlocked from nature, by the use of scientific & Mathematical analysis, it indicates that 'who-so-ever' locked this secret in nature did it in too ORDERLY a manner
as opposed to RANDOM fashion or disorder. This 'ORDER' enable scientists{incl. atheists} to make a very accurate prediction\ description of the phenomenon under consideration. It would appear that the 'owner' of this secrete had 'us' in mind when he was putting this secrete in place. 'He' seem to 'know' that probably
'one day' this animal called 'human' through his curious mind, will try to unlock this secrete, to better & advance his life; make automobiles, computers, Telecom, internet, modern health facility etc. This 'owner' of the secrete, therefore, included all the necessary 'resources' like the brain\mind, the various types of minerals, the ionosphere to enable communications etc, along side the 'secrete', and placed them all, at the disposal of human. What a grand designer, who cares for his creation!!! What better love can you give your children than provide for all the basic necessities of life? Your son or daughter comes back from school and find food is already put on the table; washes the hands and eat!

Coincidentally I was about to say 'Happy Easter to you', if only to gauge your reaction, then I saw this post! Well 'Happy Easter' to you too, dear fix. Good news need to be constantly preached, welcomed into our hearts and we have to put into practice what we have learn t. The human mind has a tendency of forgetfulness, so going to church refreshes our minds on our obligation towards God & fellow beings.
                              - As you may be aware, we last 'Gave to God what belongs to Him' about 3 months ago ( Xmas 25th Dec 2012), Since then, we've been busy attending to 'CEASER'. Today we've to again 'Give to God what belongs to God'; and ' Give to Ceaser what belongs to Ceaser' there after. The 'Rat-Race' continues.
