          Karma an Coincidence.

          Coincidence.
My wife I were driving east in the extreme rural outback one day when I felt the urge to do a leek.
I slowed my vehicle an moved off to the side of the road looking for the usual tree or scrub.
I stopped the vehicle an opened my door to get out. As I open my door, right in the door opening laying on the bitumen road, was a 300mm shifting spanner; it was in good working condition. Amazed with my lucky find I leant out of the car and picked the spanner up and placed it in my car. I had a leek and than spent the next unknown minutes driving down the road day dreaming of the incalculating odds of finding a good working spanner in the middle of a deserted highway right at opening of your car door...

I only wish I could pick the lotto numbers with luck like that....

For those of us in the warmer climates :
I assume you guys are referring to your home heating costs ?
Deductive reasoning would imply you would incur a larger bill if you start using your home heater earlier in the season.
Am I correct with my assumption ?

Accurate reasoning. Through the summer my natural gas bill stays around $25USD. In the coldest part of winter it peaks around $170USD. It's a local custom to put off starting up the furnace as long as possible.

On the other side of the earth, you're probably coming into summer, the warmest part of the year. =^..^=

Yes we are coming into the warmer summer months now. We do the same as you guys I guess, but in reverse with Air-conditioning and cooling. We have a general house rule to keep the home Air conditioner off for as long as we can so the electrickery costs are kept minimal. To much airconditioning makes you want to stay indoors, an we tend to become a lazy couch potato, or in my case a PC addict.

I have my official Jury Duty starting today so won't have to worry about the home/office airconditioner for another 3 weeks....

                            Good luck with Jury Duty!
I got the letter for Jury Duty once, but there was a fair chance I was on active duty for Desert Storm at the time and was around a thousand miles away from my home of record. So I got an automatic out.

We fitted solar panels to the roof last year so we can run the aircon during the day with a clear conscience that we are helping to cut greenhouse gasses and keeping the power bill to a minimum.

I did my civic duty and did my stint on a jury panel. Interesting to see how the law works close up and it aint anything like the TV shows, it's not fast paced and all over in 55 minutes. It took a week to work our way through a rape case involving uni students and at the end we only got the choice of guilty or not guilty when we really wanted to bang their heads together and tell them to grow up and act like adults!
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.
