The Canon NP75 NP80 NP200 and Canon 1812 made by Olivetti .and of course the Copia 405 now they were all a mean bunch but kept us in a job.

Canon NP6060 need i say more. Canon recalled this model and reintriduced it as new and improved but still a piece of garbage.

I'd have to differ on this one. The NP-6060 later became the NP-6085. Sure it had some problems, like if the customer removed a fuser jam the wrong way the machine would feed the entire web out of the machine. But with good users it made a decent high volume machine. =^..^=

Xerox 1065, 5065 and ABDick's K627 (same machines) in the late 80's and early 90's. Designed and built in record time by Xerox engineers. Their pride and joy. Large high volume machine, 65 cpm. ADH, paper path, fuser, finisher, optics, electronics, all unreliable. Talk about job security for a Tech. Problem was, that 80% of PCB's, fuses and test points were in the bottom of the machine. That got you working on your knees too many times, even laying on your stomach. This copier was obviously not designed with the Tech in mind. Same goes for the models 1040 and 1050. I had knee surgery around 1993 to remove loose tissue from my knee cap.
I have talked to many Copier Techs since then. Most have knee problems, no matter what brand copier.
Now I'm 65 and can barely walk. I'd like to hear your stories, not just about Xerox, but also other copiers that forced you to move around on your knees. We may have a huge class action suit.

It is certainly not the biggest piece of crap I've ever worked on, however, the "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" award must go to the Kyocera 5050. For the most part I enjoyed their predecessors, the 5035s, then they re-engineered them with no RAM and a flaky hard drive. Any machine that requires you to wait approximately 15 minutes from pressing a touch screen button until it actually aknowledges you it tops in my book! It's like working with my teenage children: ask it to do something then wait while it stares back at you with a blank expression for what feels like an eternity. Outstanding! They were so bad the HDDs committed suicide rather then remain in them.

frankly the Ricoh 5560 analog copier was the biggest piece of kaka made by Ricoh as far as im concerned

The only thing I didn't like about the 1065 was the fusing system....VERY MESSY!!!!!!!!!!! As for the 5100 it was amazing that it ran at all given that funky paper path.

I would have to say the Xerox 1065. It also had a rebranded name with ABDick as well.

Unless they were running 200,000 a month, they were crap to keep going. Plus, you couldn't make any money on them.

Many Xeroids would say the 5100 Xerox. That machine had well over 100 mods to it until they got it right. I used to like working on them.

Analog Minolta EP4233 . This thing was near impossible to get a feed clutch out of it, and it jammed more often than not!

After the first one I did (which didnt take long to act up again) I just kept some drinking straws in my car, and would tape 3 or 4 together and blow the toner out of the sensor with my big mouth lol. Out the door in 5 mins, never changed another sensor in them while at the KM dealership.

Lol. I have heard of people doing that. Also taking a piece of paper and rolling it up too. For me, I just vacuum the thing with the narrow nozzle.(What d'ya mean vacuum the sensor?! Doesn't that damage the sensor, static etc?!) Well it probably could, but I've done it so many times and never had that problem. I vacuum that whole area real good. Power on machine. Do a trouble reset. Then when the machine comes back on, reinstall the toner bottle(correctly). And 9 times out of 10 no more probs.

Another guy I worked with did that.. LoL and it still did not fix the problem.. Needless to say he was not happy. Who ever designed that toner system should be banished. Also the fixing drive gears are another set of fun.

The BizHub 500 is a piece of crap ! wait till you have to replace a toner bottle sensor!!
