    Konica c224 e can't access service mode

    A previous tech must have changed the service password. I have tried 9272 4 times and twice, 12345678 all that were suggested on the internet and then I'm allow me into the service mode. Is there any way to bypass the password or reset it. I have a c- f a14 code and need to get into the service mode to take care of it but I can't get past the password. Thanks

    Just use the trouble reset for now.
    If i remember right this one might need tech support to reset. Three things may take care of the code. Firmware, hdd reformatt mfp pwb.

        Try to format HDD from admin mode before using reset tool(firmware).

          You can!? I thought the only way was a call to KM tech support.
          Started in the copier service business in the fall of 1988 and worked at the same company for 33.5 years, becoming the senior tech in 2004 but left to pursue another career on 4/29/22.

            Same here, every time I've called protech. Curious if that works

              I went to trouble reset and it also had a key pad and I entered stop 00 stop 0 1 and it still wants a password. I reset the hard drive but can't format it without password. When I go into utility only consumables and 1 other box. No admin or user modes. Still have hard drive code. Easy fix if I could get past service password.

                Can you enter admin mode via web connection?

                  I would use the reset tool to clear the CE password then you can troubleshoot the FA14 code etc.

                    Make clear and readable photo of password reset code screen (with serial number and MAC address). Maybe I can help, if the machine have proper date/time set.

                      More information, this should be Stop 00 Stop 01 Clear when you are on the password screen. I'm genuinely curious what your idea of helping is, I believe only Konica can use that information and even protech support doesn't fully understand how its decrypted, only that is has embedded SN and some other info

                        To be more accurate, procedure looks like:

                        Reference
                        To perform the CE Password Reset:
                        1. Press Menu
                        2. Touch [Counter].
                        3. Touch the following keys in this order
                        Stop -> 0 -> 0 -> Stop -> 0 -> 1
                        4. On your input password screen, touch the following keys in this order
                        Stop -> Clear

                        Yeah, that's right, however I heard that someone broke the encryption 2 or 3 years ago. For me it wasn't worth time and effort, the easier way was "to get where I shouldn't".

                          You can reset the Service Mode Password and Admin Panel Password to default using a special "firmware" called A145FW.TAR
                          I am not sure if i am allowed to post the file here so i can offer you to send me a email and i'll reply with the file and detailed instructions.

                            Enter the Technical mode via Touble Reset that usually if no one has accessed once so the 1st attempt it releases and you change the password.
                            It may help you in this ok.

                              I followed your directions and got into the CE reset. It gave me a big long code that I entered and then hit end and it says unable to confirm settings. Tried it multiple times with same results
