BizHub C650i randomly cycles throughout the day

We have a BizHub C650i in our department and we're not sure if it's acting the way it's supposed to. Several times a day (like... every 30 minutes at least), the copier fires up, the outfeed tray raises up, the lights in the top scan tray light, and it beeps. Then it goes back to just sitting there. The display screen on the front is always on, and no one is walking by to wake it up. It acts like it's receiving a print command, but it's not. Is it supposed to do this or is there some setting we can change to make it stop. Our department is usually pretty quiet, and this copier behavior is kind of annoying. It is on a print server, if that makes a difference. IT says it's fine.

    Thanks!

    It seems you have ghosts.
try disabling any protocols not used like ip6 or snmp see if that helps.
maybe some device is polling it?
We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.
    The medication helps though...

I would start by calling in a Priest

Seriously not sure what would cause your issue but can offer my thoughts on it:

If air print is turned on maybe a phone is waking it up?

Also you can change the timer settings in admin mode, power save, turn on or off sleep mode, etc. Try some different settings until one works. There may be a energy save setting that wakes machine up throughout the day to rotate fuser rollers?

Too hard to diagnose over the internet you need qualified tech to visit machine and check settings errors etc.

There was a bug in one of the firmware that did this. Machine reboots. I have Been standing there when it happens.

My guess is that there is some sort of network traffic that slightly resembles a print job, and is waking up the MFP. The conclusive test is to unplug the network cable for a for hour, then see if it continues. Keep in mind that it's entirely normal for the machine to rotate the fuser rollers periodically so that they don't get flat spots, even if there is no print of copy job pending.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

This sounds like the exact behaviour experienced when somone sends a job into job storage for release later.

Is someone using the User Box/Secure Print/ID Print feature or does someone have the incorrect output settings configured in their driver (Printing Preferences -> Basic Tab -> Output Method).
If this is set to anything but "Print" the job will get stored rather than printed.

Yeah, I have a machine that does this -randomly wakes up and then does nothing. You could go down a rabbit hole but in my experience nothing is wrong with the machine there is just something that wakes it up.
