Konica Minolta Page Counter Reset

First of all, hello everyone.

I have Konica Minolta 8 series machines that I rent out. I need to reset the page counter (0) after each customer. I need your support for this. The part shown in the picture is the machine's MSATA SSD. I'll need to connect it to my computer with a USB adapter and format it, or access the NAND using WinHex.

What's the simplest solution?

You cant. PC wont see it. You will need a new one

The simplest solution is to write down beginning meter when installed. Then write down the ending meter when returned, and bill the difference.

Meters are like an odometer on cars. They should not be tampered with.

I rent out 10 machines for at least five years. Resetting the counter will be the easiest way for me to keep track of this. So, I have to find a solution.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me out on this.

Third-party sellers are asking $250 for a $5 board. I'll come up with my own solution, as long as it's insane.

I mean that just says to me you're not resetting machines just for the reason you state because how on earth is it easier to have to do all this every time than just printing a final reading from the last user and continuing from that point? Seems fishy to me

As others have said, why don't you take a reading, and start your customers from that. That's what everybody else does, how does anyone know the life of the drum, the fuser, the DV units, and of the parts/consumables. The majority of people on this site are honest, and wouldn't dream of "clocking" a device.....

Not to split hairs, but you did ask for the SIMPLEST solution. Writing down the meter IS as simple as it gets.

Here is another solution... Install a brand new machine at each 5 year rental. It's a great, no tamper way to get a zero meter. Then at the end of 5 years, when the rental paid off those copiers, you can sell them used for a profit, with your dignity intact.

It is deceptive to zero the meter in a used machine. but you already knew that, didn't you?

not only is it stupid and irresponsible to try that method i hope you have ALL new consumables EVERY time you try it because your images should look like shit since all the voltages and calibrations are now zero for USED PARTS.
heres a solution, enable account track and enable the public use as the default then reset THOSE counters when you need to.
dont try to open a letter with a chainsaw man, messing with machine and consumable counters for what? your convenience every few years?
sorry i dont buy it.
use acct track, public acct as default (no logon needed) and use that meter as your page counter.
done. simple. free.

You have been given some great advice. There is no easy way to clear counters. And like others posted clearing counters will affect print quality. The ball is in your court....proceed with caution!

As Synthohol said, resetting the counts would greatly effect your quality. The machine uses those counts to changed voltages in order to maintain quality as consumables age. Setting up Account Tracking with Public User will give you the total count for each of your rental periods and you can reset that number at period end without changing the machine counter.

Tech09 the OP was full of beans from the getgo, a sharpie with a meter and date written inside the cover is the easiest way like a normal person.
his request was as fishy as a Mermaid's .... well whatever the hell they got down there, anyway this reeked of scammer city and he can go elsewhere to help brick his machines.
